John Dearness of Deep Roots will share his latest album ’24 in Jade’ at the Orkney Distillery's 'Summer Sessions' on Friday the 17th of May.

John takes inspiration from a wide spectrum of music and enjoys incorporating many styles to set the scene for the stories he tells through his songs. The Jade albums are very much inspired by Orkney; the place, people, past, present and future, in which he employs the folk, country and bluegrass styles he has grown up listening to and playing.

Deep Roots Last comprises of John Dearness (guitar and vocals) Elizabeth Duncan (bass and vocals) Erik Laughton (percussion) and Douglas Montgomery (fiddle).

Tickets are £15, the bar will be open from 6:30pm with the event starting at 7:30pm in the picturesque events room of The Orkney Distillery.
