The newly restored and extended museum re-opened in 2022 and is home to more than 250 fascinating artefacts. Special interactive exhibits help bring it to life, and a new cafe facility is available too.

The Scapa Flow Museum is open between 9.30am and 4.15pm. Throughout the year, the opening days are:

May-September: Monday to Sunday

October-November: Tuesday to Saturday

December: Thursday to Saturday

January-February: CLOSED

March: Tuesday to Saturday

April: Monday to Saturday

Admission is free and donations are accepted. There is a gift shop and toilet facilities are available.

The £4.4m project was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Orkney Islands Council, Historic Environment Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Museums Galleries Scotland, LEADER and NatureScot.
