Countryside Code

No matter which route you choose, always remember to follow the Countryside Code www.outdooraccess-scotland.com and of course visitors should use common sense and wear appropriate clothing. Walkers should wear walking boots and light layers of clothing, which can be adjusted to the conditions. Walkers are advised to carry refreshments, and a mobile telephone can be an asset. While Orkney does not have mountainous or difficult terrain, it is wise always to let someone (perhaps your accommodation provider) know where you are planning to walk, and your estimated time of return.
