The seadoor opens onto a small lawned area and then there is the sea. The shore can be reached via a short steepish slope. Scapa Flow. Hoy, South Ronaldsay and other islands can be seen as well as some of our welcome guests of gannets, oystercatchers, wagtails, terns, widgeon, otters and the occasional minke whale or harbour porpoises. Many other birds and creatures visit, too many to list. To say nothing about watching the water in all its guises from flat calm to spectacular white topped waves. Or seeing a clear blue sky or one full of fantastic cloud formations. It is very easy to sit and while away the hours watching the panorama outside.

Inside the cottage is cosy with its woodburning stove, galley kitchen a comfortable box type bed enclosed on 3 sides. There is a television with DVD player, lots of books and a few games.
