Stromness is a small fishing town steeped in history and has a character of its own. Wander along the cobbled streets and browse through the shops full of Orkney crafts, artwork, designer jewellery and knitwear, pottery. Or relax in a coffee shop or bar or treat yourself to a meal in one of the many restaurants that use locally sourced ingredients: Orkney meat, fish, lobster, scallops, cheese, ice-cream to name but a few.
