Sheila Fleet Jewellery

"I'm inspired by where I live"

Sheila Fleet, OBE is one of Scotland's leading designers of silver, gold, palladium and platinum jewellery.

Sheila was brought up on a farm in Hoxa, South Ronaldsay surrounded by the sea and sky. Her early drawings of the cliffs and shoreline gained her a place at Edinburgh College of Art. After graduating she worked for notable jewellery companies before founding her own business in 1993. Sheila Fleet Jewellery remains family-run with son Martin and his wife Mairi joining Sheila to lead a skilled team of craftspeople.

Her distinctive designs are collected all over the world and known for their vibrant enamel colours and fine hand-finish. Sheila holds an OBE for services to the jewellery industry and an Honorary Degree from Edinburgh University for outstanding jewellery design.

When the light is special Sheila still returns to the coastline for inspiration. Sea & Surf is the latest collection she has dedicated to the sea. Other collections inspired by the sea include Surfbreaker, Summer Splash, Scapa Flow and Pentland which are as popular today as they were almost 20 years ago. Distinctive Storm, Wave, Ocean, Atlantic Swell - to name but a few - were followed by her iconic Creel, Tidal and Tidal Treasures collections. Sheila has designed over 80 traditional and contemporary collections including many inspired by nature, by love, by spirit and by Orkney.

Orkney is the home of Sheila Fleet Jewellery - discover craftsmanship at Sheila's country Workshop by the sea (near Kirkwall airport, follow the Craft Trail signs) and view designer treasures in her beautiful jewellery gallery in Kirkwall. A warm welcome awaits you!
